Fact-checking has been an integral part of journalists’ mission, but the practice of finding and verifying information online might require additional steps. For this purpose, an infographics that aims to assist journalists in fact-checking was created, as a result of training sessions and workshop with journalists throughout the region. It is designed to help reporters check potentially suspicious information, as a simple tool to support the media in the fight against disinformation. The infographis is a simple guide on how to use standard verification techniques in combination with free digital tools, in order to determine if the content is real or manipulated. The infographic was created as part of the project “Promoting Media Literacy and Strengthening Independent Journalism in the Western Balkans” implemented by Albany Associates in cooperation with Albanian Media Institute and other media organizations in the region, with the support of the Foreign Commonwealth Office.
