The project aims to improve transparency and accountability of local government and local public institutions through a more active role of media and citizens. The project objectives are to test the implementation of the law on access to information from the new local administration and to improve knowledge and capacities of local journalists on FOIA legislation by testing it in practice. The project will test implementation of the right to information by seven local government units, combining workshops with journalists, testing of the right to information in practice, and reporting on the process and information issued in local media.
